Brand Origins

Influenced by his winemaker father, Eugène Weiss drew inspiration from wine blending to create the art of chocolate blending, introducing the concept of Haut Chocolat ®. He opened his first shop in Saint-Etienne, the land of chocolate, in 1882. As a French company, WEISS is proud of and makes contributions to its home territory. In 2014, it was awarded the prestigious "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) label, an official recognition given by the State for its unique craftsmanship standards of excellence.
